A Superyacht Haven This Winter

For those arriving by sea, the Grand Harbour Marina is the pinnacle of Mediterranean luxury and the ultimate winter berth. Nestled within the historic fortifications of Valletta, this world-class marina offers state-of-the-art facilities capable of accommodating superyachts up to 135 metres. Its key draw is a secure, all-weather deep-water harbour, providing a safe haven from the winter elements. Beyond the technical specs, the marina offers an unrivalled location: yachts are berthed directly beneath the breathtaking baroque skyline of Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with the island’s finest restaurants, bars, and cultural sites just a short stroll away. Captivating Culture

Everyone has wanted a piece of Malta over the years and that’s created a melting pot of influences, from Roman and Arab to French and British. You’ll see the layers of history as you walk through fishing villages and cities, and when you try the cuisine.

Valletta was built by the Knights of St John and stands as an open-air museum to baroque beauty. Check out the golden interiors of the Grandmaster’s Palace and St John’s Co-Cathedral.

Mdina, known as the ‘Silent City’, feels like it’s been frozen in time. Built as an Arabic fortress, it’s packed with its own baroque trinkets.

And then there are the so-called Three Cities, reached by sailing across the harbour from Valletta on colourful boats. Life goes on in much the same way there as it has for centuries.

Looking for ancient history? Don’t miss the mysterious archaeological sites that whisper secrets of the neolithic communities that inhabited Malta thousands of years ago.

Idyllic Swimming Spots

With more than 300 days of sunshine, you can cool off on one of Malta’s many beaches, coves and natural pools. From buzzing beaches like Golden Bay, Mellieħa Bay and George’s Bay to more secluded sands such as crescent-shaped beauty Għajn Tuffieħa, there’s something for everyone.

You’ll love the clear waters at Little Armier. Or perhaps you’d rather hop on the ferry to sister island Gozo and relax on the red sands of Ramla Bay?

The clear waters are ideal for snorkelling and scuba diving. Or perhaps you’d rather take a boat out to explore, or venture along the coast by kayak and stand-up paddleboard?

Delicious Delicacies

With a cuisine influenced by French, Spanish, Sicilian and north African cooking, Malta is a fabulous foodie destination.

The island is surrounded by pristine waters teeming with delicious seafood. It’s also home to bustling food markets selling fresh produce, plus craft breweries, idyllic vineyards, old-world eateries, and no fewer than seven Michelin-starred restaurants.

Don’t miss the chance to try fresh-caught lampuki (mahi-mahi) at the many seafood restaurants. Or you could grab a street food snack in the shape of pastizzi, a filo-styled pastry, filled with sweet ricotta or spicy mashed peas.

And enjoy Maltese bread, called ħobż, slathered with tuna, tomatoes, olives and fresh mint. Don’t forget to save space for sweet honey and almond desserts.
